When Jill & Jacks daughter has her baby on Christmas day, and Jill breaks her legs, murder merely adds to the chaos
A full length seasonal comedy murder mystery
by Reg Mitchell
Jill and Jack are weighed down with shopping - it’s their turn to host Christmas! Their daughter is due to have her baby any day, and their son-in-law's parents will be arriving for the holiday.
Jill's close friend, the actor Laura, and her noisy, dipsomaniac husband, Harry, are also guests for the evening meal. After dinner, songs round the piano and a game of Charades, it’s time for the pub. Except for Laura, who confesses to a surprised Jill that her marriage is not all it seems. Harry is a wife-beater!
When, in her haste to answer the phone, early on Christmas morning to hear of the imminent arrival of her grand-daughter, Jill falls down the stairs, she manages to break both her legs, and is rushed off to A&E.
An eventful Christmas day continues with the arrival on Christmas afternoon, of a blood-stained Laura, who announces that she has just killed her husband. But when Jack goes to check up, there is no dead body to be found.
Harry has disappeared!
The plot ducks and weaves to the surprise ending.
